About this role
Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania, known as CCBRT, is Tanzania's leading provider of disability and rehabilitation services and a strategic partner to the Government in delivering specialised healthcare services. Operating as a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT serves communities and the most vulnerable populations across the country. As part of its next phase of growth, the organisation is transitioning into a three-entity hybrid structure comprising an NGO arm, a virtual Company Limited by Guarantee for the Hospital and Medical College, and a Company Limited by Shares commercial arm. The Group Chief Executive Officer will provide overall strategic and operational leadership of CCBRT, ensuring the effective integration and performance of all entities.
The role is responsible for financial sustainability, high-quality service delivery, equitable access to care, institutional growth, and systems-level impact. Core accountabilities include leading the implementation and evolution of CCBRT's strategy and positioning it as a leading integrated health system platform in Africa, providing Group-level leadership across all entities to ensure alignment between impact, clinical, academic, and commercial arms while preventing organisational silos, strengthening revenue streams and operational efficiency across payer systems, private services, training and education, and commercial ventures, maintaining and strengthening relationships with the Ministry of Health and its institutions, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Community Development, and other public institutions to influence policy and contribute to national health priorities, building strong relationships with development partners, donors, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to position CCBRT as a trusted national and regional partner, leading a multidisciplinary workforce across clinical, academic, corporate, and social impact functions while strengthening leadership capacity and succession planning, and ensuring strong governance across all entities with effective Board engagement, institutional risk management, compliance, and reputation oversight.
