Communications Officer, Urban Youth Programming

World Vision Tanzania is hiring a Communications Officer for urban youth programming under a GAC/AHADI-funded project, based in Dodoma with activities in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma. The fixed-term, full-time post holder will implement communication and advocacy strategies aligned with World Vision Tanzania and donor standards, developing structured plans for campaigns, events, advocacy, and university outreach while coordinating messaging on urban youth empowerment, health systems strengthening, and gender equality. They will produce ethical written and visual content, including human-interest stories, case studies, blogs, photo essays, and short videos, and will conduct field visits to project sites, health facilities, and campuses. The officer will manage social media and website updates, design digital assets, track engagement metrics, ensure full compliance with Government of Canada and AHADI branding rules, and prepare donor visibility materials and report inputs.

They will also organise media coverage and events and collaborate with local partners such as TAHEA, Baba Watoto Organization, and KIWOHEDE. Candidates need three to five years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or digital marketing, preferably in an NGO or international development context, plus demonstrated multimedia, photojournalism, video editing, and human-interest storytelling skills. Experience managing communications for large donor-funded programs, with GAC or AHADI compliance highly preferred, and a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, mass communication, or a related field are required. Desired qualifications include graphic design and video editing proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva, knowledge of youth development and gender equality issues in Tanzania, and familiarity with MenCare and Channels of Hope frameworks.
