Chief of Party, Faith and Community Initiative (FCI)

About this role

World Vision is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Chief of Party for the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) in Tanzania, a senior country programme leadership role accountable for delivering FCI goals, objectives and results. The post holder will lead the FCI Tanzania Country Implementation Plan, adapting the global model to Tanzania's health-system architecture, disease burden, national policies and faith-based service-delivery environment. Responsibilities span in-country leadership, representation to the U.S. Embassy, Government of Tanzania, Christian Health Associations, faith-based networks and the Global Fund; negotiation of transition and sustainability arrangements with government; supervision of technical, finance, compliance and monitoring teams; oversight of technical quality, grant and fiscal management; and management of a consortium of partners.

The position also champions the FCI 80/20 cost-efficiency principle, ensuring resources reach frontline health services, and leads adaptive management based on performance data. Candidates must hold a master's degree in public health, international development, business or public administration, health systems management or related field, and have at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing large-scale donor-funded health programmes with senior leadership, financial oversight and staff supervision. Demonstrated experience with PEPFAR, CDC, U.S. Government agencies, the Global Fund, host governments and multi-organisation consortia is required, along with strong English communication and the ability to articulate a Christian worldview.

Prior service as a Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party or equivalent, local language proficiency, and experience supporting government absorption of donor-supported services are strongly preferred. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation with 75 years of experience helping vulnerable children, employing about 31,000 staff in nearly 100 countries.
