Deloitte is recruiting a Business Analyst for its Technology and Transformation Business Unit, within the Enterprise Technology and Performance practice under the Technology, Strategy and Transformation service offering, based in the firm's Dar es Salaam office in Tanzania. The successful candidate supports the team in introducing, developing, implementing, optimising and maintaining technology solutions, working in direct dialogue with clients and developing customised approaches covering architecture, process, deployment and products. Day to day, the post-holder advises clients on solution design and architecture, then implements the solutions developed, defining the underlying architecture, processes and deployment arrangements. The work requires coordination with architects, development teams and the customer, and the analyst applies Agile principles to deliver resilient, secure and performant solutions within a multifaceted team.
Depending on experience, the individual takes on team or project responsibility, and the role extends beyond writing code, since a genuine passion for building high-quality solutions is central. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, plus experience working in a software development team, which is listed as an added advantage. Candidates must be comfortable programming in Python or related languages such as C#, Java or C/C++, must write and run SQL scripts, and must know the Linux, MacOS or Unix command line. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with infrastructure as code such as Terraform, distributed computing technologies such as Apache Spark, data modelling and processing experience, project management skills, and cloud services knowledge covering AWS or Azure.
AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect certification is an added advantage. Behavioural competencies include excellent written and verbal English, relationship-building skills, adaptability to change and ambiguity, problem-solving, and a focus on quality and risk.
