Educate! is hiring a Director of Performance Metrics to lead their data function as the organisation undergoes a critical shift toward becoming more data- and technology-driven. 's predictive analytics strategy. The role encompasses all four pillars of the data function: data design, data engineering and infrastructure, analytics oversight, and data collection.
The post-holder will operate as a full-stack analyst leader, technically fluent in SQL, dbt, and cloud warehousing, while simultaneously acting as a people leader and trusted cross-functional partner to Technology, Evaluation, and Product teams. Core responsibilities include setting the strategy and operating model for the performance metrics function, building team structures and streamlined processes, designing and owning end-to-end data architecture on BigQuery, establishing self-service analytics so that implementation, product, and leadership teams can access 90 percent of their data needs independently, and raising data literacy across the organisation. Within the first six months, the post-holder is expected to understand the current metrics landscape and establish the function's strategy alongside the COO, and within twelve months, the analytics engineering layer should be healthy, fully owned, and actively leveraging AI-native practices. The organisation employs over 300 largely African staff and has been backed by foundations including Imaginable Futures, Livelihood Impact Fund, and the Gates Foundation. The position is full time, based in East Africa with regional travel.
