The High Commission of India in Tanzania is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to serve as Flag Car Chauffeur/Driver for official Land-Cruiser vehicles at its diplomatic mission in Dar es Salaam. This is a full-time position within the Consular section of the High Commission, which represents the Government of India in Tanzania and provides diplomatic, consular, and commercial services to Indian nationals and foreign nationals interacting with India. The High Commission of India in Dar es Salaam serves as the principal diplomatic outpost of the Republic of India in Tanzania, overseeing bilateral relations, visa services, passport and consular assistance, trade promotion, and cultural diplomacy between the two countries. As a Flag Car Chauffeur/Driver, the successful candidate will be responsible for transporting diplomatic officials, dignitaries, and consular staff in official Land-Cruiser vehicles, ensuring safe and punctual transportation to appointments, meetings, airport transfers, and official engagements throughout Dar es Salaam and beyond.

The role requires maintaining the cleanliness, security, and proper functioning of assigned vehicles, conducting routine vehicle inspections, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs. Drivers at diplomatic missions are expected to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality regarding the movements, identities, and activities of officials and guests, as the nature of diplomatic transport involves exposure to sensitive political and governmental matters. The position requires a valid Tanzanian driving licence with a clean driving record, prior experience as a professional driver in a corporate or diplomatic environment, familiarity with Dar es Salaam road networks and routes, and the ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as demanded by the official schedule. Preferred qualifications include previous employment with a diplomatic mission, international organisation, or government agency, experience driving four-wheel-drive vehicles such as Toyota Land Cruisers on varied terrain, and basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor vehicle issues.
