Program Management Consultant — Tanzania
Pure Earth
About this Role
Pure Earth seeks a consultant for approximately 15 weeks (starting March 2026) to support preliminary work for establishing a lead poisoning prevention project in Tanzania, including stakeholder mapping, operational research, and desk review of Tanzania's lead contamination landscape and institutional testing capacity. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in environmental science or public health (Master's preferred), 5–7 years of experience managing environmental or public health programs (ideally involving lead or heavy metals), Tanzania-specific regulatory knowledge, and fluency in both English and Swahili. This consultancy is relevant to Tanzania's development agenda as lead poisoning from informal battery recycling, paint, and contaminated soils represents a growing environmental health threat requiring policy attention and programmatic response. Core deliverables include a stakeholder mapping report, operational requirements report, preliminary desk review, and monthly progress reports across four submission milestones. The ideal candidate has work authorization in Tanzania, field experience in environmental health or public health program development, and strong NGO operational knowledge. Short-term consultancy, approximately 15 weeks; apply by email with CV, cover letter, and proposed work plan.
