The World Bank Country Office in Tanzania is seeking a Communications Intern to join its External Affairs team for a five-month, part-time internship based in Dar es Salaam. The intern will report to the Senior External Affairs Officer in Tanzania and will support media monitoring, social media management, and broader communications activities that help the Country Office effectively convey the results and impact of the World Bank Group's programs in Tanzania. m. every weekday, covering developments across all sectors financed by the World Bank Group in Tanzania.

The intern is expected to use AI tools including WBG's mAI to support search, translation, and summarization of Kiswahili content while retaining editorial judgment and final quality control. Additional duties include monitoring social media platforms including Twitter (X), Instagram, TikTok, and relevant blogs to flag coverage requiring Management attention, supporting social media strategy and planning aligned with World Bank Social Media Guidelines, maintaining the content calendar, and contributing to performance reporting using analytics and AI tools. The intern will also periodically support results storytelling by conducting interviews with beneficiaries, writing web features, and capturing photos and video during travel within Tanzania, using AI-assisted tools for transcription, drafting, and editing while ensuring all published content is fact-checked, appropriately sourced, and reflects authentic beneficiary voices and consent.
