Senior Technical Officer, Demand Planning-Malaria

About this role

The Senior Technical Officer (STO), Demand Planning-Malaria supports Tanzania's National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to strengthen the availability and management of malaria commodities and related supply chain systems. FHI 360, a globally recognised nonprofit development organisation, implements health programmes across Tanzania and requires this role to provide technical guidance, capacity building, and supply systems strengthening to NMCP and malaria stakeholders throughout the country. The STO oversees demand planning and forecasting activities, including bottom-up quantification exercises, pipeline analyses, and supply chain reviews for malaria commodities. S/he ensures timely availability of quality malaria commodities at the right quantities and times, identifies potential supply chain challenges, and supports mitigation measures.

The role involves mentoring frontline workers and junior staff on logistics systems, developing technical briefs, reports, and materials on demand planning best practices, and monitoring performance milestones. The STO contributes to business development by assisting with proposal writing, budget development, and strategic partnering for malaria commodity procurement. The role reports to the Senior Technical Advisor, Systems Strengthening & Demand Planning and requires 10-25% travel. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Public Health, Pharmacy, Laboratory, or a related field with a minimum of six years of progressive experience in commodity forecasting, quantification, demand planning, or supply chain management.

Proficiency in national quantification tools such as Quantimed, Pipelines, ForLab, and electronic LMIS platforms is required. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is mandatory. FHI 360 offers a competitive benefits package and an annual basic salary range of TZS 68,000,000 to 90,000,000, commensurate with experience and internal equity considerations.
