Senior Associate, Programs
About this role
Evidence Action is hiring a Senior Associate, Programs in Dodoma, Tanzania to support the Deworm the World Initiative, the organisation's school-based deworming programme that launched in Tanzania in late 2025 to combat schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminth infections in over ten million children currently at risk. The role owns small to medium workstreams within the programme, translating government and organisational priorities from the Program Manager into concrete plans for Mass Drug Administration, Coverage Evaluation Surveys, supply chain management, reporting, and capacity building. Day to day responsibilities include coordinating with the Ministry of Health, PMO-RALG, and regional and council health teams to plan and implement deworming campaigns across target councils, preparing and submitting Joint Application for Procurement and Joint Request for Selected Medicines paperwork, monitoring drug delivery to health facilities, leading pre-MDA distribution planning, running training cascades for district health officers, teachers, and community drug distributors, and contributing to quarterly and annual progress reports. Required qualifications are a bachelor's degree in public health, programme or project management, sociology, international development, or a related field, plus five to seven years of progressively responsible programme-implementation experience including at least two years owning specific workstreams, fluent Swahili, and direct government-stakeholder experience at district, regional, or national level. A postgraduate qualification in monitoring and evaluation, data science, or public health is an added advantage, and prior NTD or school-based deworming experience is a strong plus. Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools, basic predictive analytics in Excel, Python, or R, and DHIS2 or SQL are preferred. Evidence Action runs programmes in nine countries with a team of over nine hundred and has delivered more than two billion deworming treatments globally. The position is initially employed through Multiplier Technologies Inc. under a temporary Professional Employer Organisation arrangement compliant with Tanzanian labour law, transitioning directly to Evidence Action once internal systems are established.
