Scholarship and Communications Coordinator

About this role

CBM is seeking a Scholarship and Communications Coordinator to support its Inclusive Health Initiative, an ambitious programme working to strengthen disability-inclusive health systems across sub-Saharan Africa. The post-holder will lead all communications activities for the initiative, developing and executing a communications strategy that spans multiple country programmes and partnerships, and will manage the end-to-end scholarship cycle for health professionals and trainees supported through the programme. Core responsibilities include producing high-quality communications outputs such as case studies, social media content, website articles, and internal and external publications, as well as supporting teams in articulating programme milestones and impact stories. The coordinator will serve as the primary administrative and communication link between CBM country teams, universities, training institutions, implementing partners, and government ministries, while maintaining accurate records including scholarship databases, contracts, academic progress tracking, and financial documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Development, or a related field, with a minimum of seven years of experience in communications, preferably within international development, health, or innovation ecosystems. Candidates must demonstrate strong editorial and writing skills, experience managing communications for multi-stakeholder partnerships, proficiency with digital communications platforms and content tools, and the ability to work independently in multicultural settings. Excellent written and spoken English is essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to disability inclusion and safeguarding principles. The position is full-time and locally contracted in one of several CBM country offices, including Nairobi, Abuja, Lomé, Yaoundé, Lusaka, Addis Ababa, Kampala, or Niamey, with contractual terms governed by the respective national entity and no expatriation intended.
