Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement

FHI 360 is recruiting a Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement, HIV to strengthen community and facility-based HIV services in Lindi, Tanzania. The officer provides technical and programmatic oversight for interventions that improve linkage to care, antiretroviral treatment initiation, treatment continuity and re-engagement of adults, children and adolescents, working with regional and district health management teams, community health workers and facility care teams. The officer supports evidence-based strategies for ART linkage, retention and re-engagement, and contributes to tools, materials and standard operating procedures for community-based HIV service delivery. The post-holder helps build a strategic communication package that raises demand for HIV prevention, testing, TB and STI services, and works with the EpiC TB/HIV officer on integrated delivery.

Mentorship of community health workers and providers covers referrals, client follow-up, case management and national tracking registers, alongside supportive supervision of community health workers and civil society organisations. The officer also analyses retention data, monitors performance indicators, prepares reports and success stories, and ensures compliance with donor standards. A bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, international development, communication, social work, research or a related field is required, with at least four years of progressive experience in community-based health programming, including technical leadership and coordination of HIV prevention, care and treatment. Experience with NGOs, community health workers or government agencies is essential, as are fluency in English and Swahili, strong data-use skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel extensively.

The post is full time, reports to the Senior Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement, and involves 50 to 75 percent domestic travel. The expected annual basic salary is TZS 52,000,000 to 65,000,000. Qualified candidates apply online via the FHI 360 career portal by 24 October 2026.
