Public Health Administrative Specialist

S. Mission Tanzania is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Administrative Specialist in the CDC Tanzania office. This role supports the Division of Global Health Protection with a primary focus on Global Health Security work. The position will manage cooperative agreement and partner management, operational budgeting and finance, program support, and office administration, while serving as a liaison between management and operations teams at post and identified headquarters points of contact.
Core responsibilities include overseeing the administration of grants and cooperative agreements, coordinating programme activities with implementing partners, managing operational budgets and financial reporting, and maintaining office administration systems. S. agencies within the Mission, headquarters-based subject matter experts, and extramural partners across the programme. The selected candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Public Health, or International Development, or a closely related field.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative management experience in a public health or international development environment is required, including direct experience managing acquisitions, grants, contracts, or cooperative agreement documentation and reporting, files management, and client-facing interface work. Level 4 (fluent) speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in both English and Swahili is mandatory. The role demands detailed knowledge of grant and cooperative agreement administration procedures, host country operational regulations, audit and accounting requirements, and routine health information systems in developing countries. Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal abilities are essential for coordinating effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, classified under the LE-0540 series at LE-10 level, with an annual salary of TZS 77,198,751. Occasional travel is required. Security and medical clearance must be obtained and maintained.
