About this role

Raising The Village (RTV) is recruiting seven Project Officers to support the implementation, coordination and performance management of its ultra-poverty eradication programmes in Tanzania. Reporting to the Project Manager within the Implementation department, the post-holder acts as the primary field-level support for RTV activities across assigned clusters in Kyerwa, Muleba, Karagwe and Misenyi. Day to day, the Project Officer ensures that the workplans of government officials and Project Assistants align with approved project designs and are delivered accordingly, conducting at least three field visits each week to oversee, verify and support implementation. The role supports district, ward and village officials to execute RTV-aligned training, coaching and follow-up activities, verifies that government-led frontline delivery meets RTV technical standards, and serves as the first point of escalation for execution challenges.

The officer reviews field reports and action plans for quality and timeliness, identifies implementation risks with practical mitigation measures, and contributes to weekly, monthly and donor reports. The post also involves running weekly cluster review meetings, coaching Project Assistants and government extension workers, supporting quarterly and annual performance reviews, and facilitating refresher training. Administrative duties include compliance with RTV safeguarding standards, supporting donor information sharing, and approving leave and field movements. Candidates should have three or more years of relevant experience, strong verbal and written English and Kiswahili, with knowledge of Kinyambo and Kihaya an advantage, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, strong organisational, facilitation and leadership skills, problem-solving ability under pressure, and high integrity.

Physical fitness for rural, high-terrain settings, willingness to travel up to 80 percent of the time, and the ability to ride a motorbike are required. This is a full-time role based in Tanzania, reporting to the Project Manager. RTV is an international development organisation working across Uganda, Rwanda, DRC and Tanzania.
