Project Manager

Raising The Village

About this role

Raising The Village (RTV) is recruiting two Project Managers to serve as district-level operational leads for its integrated graduation model in Tanzania, with duty stations in Muleba and Misenyi. RTV is an international development organisation working to eradicate ultra-poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the position reports directly to the Head of Program Implementation. The Project Manager is accountable for delivering a full cluster portfolio against performance, cost and timeline targets. Day to day, the post-holder leads end-to-end implementation of RTV's model across assigned clusters, ensuring adherence to approved project designs, standard operating procedures and phase sequencing while maintaining quarterly and annual targets covering household reach, income growth proxies, participation rates and savings mobilisation.

The role serves as RTV's primary liaison with district and ward government authorities, coordinating implementation calendars with district technical officers and submitting required regulatory reports. The Project Manager directly supervises project officers across multiple technical pillars, translating annual work plans into weekly schedules, conducting structured performance reviews and leading mid-term and annual evaluations. Further duties include reviewing dashboard metrics to correct underperforming indicators, managing district budgets and procurement, supervising inventory management, and overseeing district office logistics and field supply chains. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in project planning and management, development studies, social sciences, community development or a related field, with at least five years of progressive programme implementation experience, including three years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Proficiency in Kiswahili, strong English communication, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems are mandatory. A master's degree or postgraduate diploma in project management or development practice is an added advantage, as is experience in integrated livelihoods, agriculture, financial inclusion, health or community systems programming. The appointment is a full time, field-based position requiring travel of up to 80 percent across high-terrain rural geographies, and candidates should apply through RTV's recruitment portal; no closing date is stated in the posting.
