Performance Metrics Officer

Educate!

About this role

Educate! is recruiting a Performance Metrics Officer to support monitoring, reporting, and data quality for the MEWAKA program in Tanzania. The position is based in Mwanza, one of the organisation’s three main hubs in Tanzania; Educate! is the largest youth skills service provider in East Africa.

The officer will work closely with the Performance Metrics Coordinator and frontline teams to ensure programme data is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. The work spans four areas. Around 40 percent covers data collection support and coordination, including daily tracking, cleaning, follow-up on missing submissions, and frontline questions about reporting tools. About 20 percent involves maintaining systems such as SurveyCTO, Google Forms, Textit, and dashboards, plus the logistics database.

Another 20 percent focuses on analysis and reporting, including automated progress reports, monitoring reports, dashboards, and independent analyses. The final 20 percent covers data quality checks, reviewing submitted data for errors, duplicates, inconsistencies, and missing entries, and giving feedback to frontline teams. Candidates should hold a degree in social sciences, statistics, or a similar field and have one to two years of experience in data-related projects or monitoring, including hands-on field data collection in rural settings. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, communication, self-direction, and willingness to travel frequently are required.

Experience designing and troubleshooting online survey platforms such as Google Forms and SurveyCTO is essential. Familiarity with education or youth-impact programmes is preferred, and experience with Educate!’s programme is an added advantage. The role is full time in Mwanza, with frequent travel at least monthly, typically four days per trip, to schools in Kagera, Geita, Tabora, and Simiyu, plus occasional travel to Arusha and Dar es Salaam. Educate!

offers a vibrant mission-driven environment, a competitive salary based on experience, and learning opportunities. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews happening soon.
