Partnership Analyst

About this role

UNDP is recruiting a Partnership Analyst for the United Nations Volunteers programme in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on a full-time NPSA contract. The post-holder leads country-level analytical and partnership support for UNV's volunteer mobilization agenda, reporting to the Portfolio Manager or Specialist in the Regional Office, and works closely with the UNDP Resident Representative and the UN Resident Coordinator, since UNV Field Units are hosted within UNDP offices. The day-to-day work spans four areas. The analyst develops and sustains partnerships with UN agencies, government institutions, civil society and private sector actors, participates in UN collective planning processes such as the CCA, UNSDCF and humanitarian response plans, and analyses cooperation frameworks and sectoral strategies to identify entry points for volunteer solutions.

The role also builds country-level business intelligence on partner mandates and programme pipelines, monitors mobilization trends and key performance indicators using CRM and BI tools, and adapts regional priorities into country-specific recommendations. Duty of care responsibilities include coordinating with the Field Security Officer on security compliance, supporting medical evacuations, conducting field visits and maintaining contact with serving volunteers. Finally, the analyst manages the Field Unit's annual work plan and budget, and supervises assigned UNV personnel. Candidates must hold an advanced university degree in partnership, social sciences, international development, project management, public or business administration or a related field, or a bachelor's degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience.

A minimum of two years of experience with a master's degree, or four years with a bachelor's degree, in partnerships, development cooperation, international relations, research or programme analysis is required, along with demonstrated analytical and drafting skills. Experience with the UN system, volunteer management and civil society engagement is an asset. Fluency in English and the local duty station language is required.
