About this role

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking a Medical Doctor to join its Clinical Division in Dar es Salaam. CCBRT is Tanzania's largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services and a leading healthcare social enterprise committed to empowering people with disabilities and their families. The organisation also runs extensive maternal and newborn healthcare activities, including obstetric fistula repairs, through its Maternity and Newborn Wing which serves as a referral centre for high-risk deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone. In this role, the Medical Doctor will examine and treat patients in both outpatient and inpatient departments, including running scheduled clinics, screening patients, admitting cases to the ward, preparing operation lists, and updating Senior Medical Doctors and Specialists on patients' conditions.

The post-holder will also have opportunities to perform minor surgical procedures, assist senior surgeons during major operations, and participate in outreach activities. The role involves shift work with rotating on-call duties, requiring availability for night shifts and weekends. The ideal candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 2.7 at undergraduate level and successful completion of a one-year internship. Candidates must have two or more years of post-internship working experience with a reputable organisation, be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council, and hold a valid 2026 practitioner license.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Swahili, computer literacy, and a proactive, team-oriented, client-focused attitude are essential.
