About this role
Compassion International seeks a Grants Program Manager to lead national implementation of an institutional grant-funded programme in Arusha, Tanzania. The fixed-term post is supported by grant funding approved for one year. The post holder manages staff, sets goals, coaches and reviews performance, administers the annual budget and expenses, monitors costs against the grant budget, ensures financial and legal compliance, identifies risks, and escalates challenges to protect timelines and quality. Team management covers hiring, terminations, consultation, and capacity building for a progressive transition or closeout. The manager must maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, act as a consistent witness, uphold Compassion's ministry, advocate for children's needs, and prioritise child protection in all decisions, reporting concerns through internal channels. The position is full time and based in a standard office environment in Arusha, with sitting, standing, or walking for up to eight hours daily and travel of up to 25 percent.
