UNFPA Tanzania is seeking a National Programme Specialist to lead advocacy efforts aimed at ending preventable maternal and newborn deaths through strengthened midwifery models of care. The Specialist will design and implement evidence-based advocacy strategies that drive increased government investment in midwifery and maternal health commodities, working closely with the Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health team to promote integration within national health frameworks, financing mechanisms, and policy agendas. The role requires a Master's degree with five years of relevant experience, fluency in English and Kiswahili, and strong coordination abilities to engage stakeholders across government and health sector platforms. UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted and every childbirth is safe, focusing on three transformative results including ending preventable maternal deaths.
