About Amref Health Africa
Amref Health Africa is an African-led health organisation that has supported public health in Tanzania for more than three decades. It works with the Ministry of Health and the President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government on community-led, people-centred primary health care.
Amref Tanzania's country strategic plan for 2023 to 2030, launched in Dar es Salaam in September 2023, centres on primary health care and the social determinants of health. Its priorities include universal health coverage, non-communicable and climate-linked diseases, stronger epidemic response, and sexual and reproductive health services for young women and youth.
