UNICEF Vacancy: Food Technologist (Complementary Foods)

About this Role

UNICEF Tanzania is seeking a national consultant to provide technical assistance on the development, reformulation, and scale-up of nutritious complementary foods for children aged 6 to 23 months. Working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, the consultant will support local producers and government institutions to ensure products are affordable, safe, nutritionally adequate, and compliant with national and international standards. The role requires a degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field, with at least five years of experience in fortified food product development and demonstrated ability to work with SMEs, cooperatives, and private sector actors in Tanzania. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between policy and practice by strengthening local production capacity and improving quality assurance systems. This is a twelve-month consultancy based in Dar es Salaam with a 50 percent in-person and 50 percent remote working arrangement.
