About this Role
The HR Associate (Grade SC 6, 12-month service contract) provides comprehensive, client-focused human resources services for WFP's Dar es Salaam Country Office, covering payroll management, recruitment, employee wellness, and HR analytics. Key requirements include secondary school completion (university degree preferred in HR or Business Administration), a minimum of 6 years progressive HR experience, proficiency in Workday/SAP HRIS systems, and fluency in both English and Swahili. This role is important to Tanzania's development sector as WFP's country office manages one of the largest humanitarian food assistance operations in East Africa, requiring robust HR systems to sustain program delivery. Core responsibilities include monthly payroll processing, workforce analytics and dashboards, recruitment and onboarding coordination, performance management facilitation, and emergency deployment support. The ideal candidate has deep HRIS experience, a track record of confidential personnel data management, and familiarity with UN HR regulations and Tanzanian labour law. This is a 12-month service contract at WFP's Dar es Salaam country office.
