About this role

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), a 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the world's largest humanitarian organization, is recruiting a Programme Policy Officer (Partnerships) for its Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam. The position is a Special Service Agreement at Level 8 for a duration of four months, reporting to the Deputy Country Director and working closely with the Country Head of Programme and Country Strategic Plan Activity Managers. The post-holder will build and maintain effective partnerships with NGOs, UN agencies, academia, and government institutions under WFP Tanzania's Country Strategic Plan 2022-2027, which integrates humanitarian assistance to refugees with support for inclusive economic growth, human capital, healthy diets, and climate change adaptation and environmental restoration.

Core responsibilities include managing the full lifecycle of Field Level Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding, and Letters of Understanding, from calls for proposals through the UN Partners Portal, due diligence, selection, award and registration, implementation, and final evaluation. The Officer will also act as secretary to the Cooperating Partners Committee and the Cooperating Partners Technical Evaluation Committee, provide training and orientation on the UN Partners Portal and agreement processes, support timely reporting and invoice processing through the Invoice Tracking System, participate in compliance spot checks, and maintain a partnerships tracking sheet with alerts on expiring agreements. Candidates should hold a university degree in business administration, partnerships, project management, economics, or a related field, and have four to six years of relevant experience analysing information of medium complexity and presenting it to different audiences.

Strong organizational and planning skills, good judgement, the ability to work independently and in a team, and effective communication are required, as is fluency in English and Swahili. Additional training in project management, statistical analysis, or operational planning and management is desirable.
