The AfCFTA Secretariat is recruiting a Travel Assistant (Req ID: 3015) for a full-time position based in Accra, Ghana. This role sits within the Secretariat's Directorate of Operations, where the post holder will provide operational support to ensure the smooth movement of staff, officials, and delegations across the continent. Core responsibilities include coordinating travel arrangements including flights, visas, accommodation, and ground transportation; processing travel authorisations and related documentation in accordance with organisational policies and financial regulations; maintaining accurate records of travel itineraries, expenses, and advances; liaising with embassies, consulates, and service providers to secure travel permits and preferential rates; and providing end-to-end logistical support for meetings, conferences, and missions convened under the AfCFTA framework. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school certificate or equivalent qualification, with at least two to three years of relevant experience in travel coordination, logistics, or administrative support within a busy office environment.
Proficiency inMicrosoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, is essential. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems and prior experience supporting multilateral or governmental institutions are added advantages. The post holder must demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in English, are required.
