Senior Programme Associate (MECC/DRR)
About this role
IOM, the International Organization for Migration, is seeking a Senior Programme Associate to support the RE2CLID (Resilience and Climate-Induced Displacement) Programme operating in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. This full-time position falls under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator and direct supervision of the Project Officer (MECC/CAD/DRR), with responsibilities spanning the Lake Tanganyika basin portfolio. The role provides essential programmatic support to strengthen high-quality planning, implementation follow-up, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, stakeholder coordination, knowledge generation and institutional learning across programme activities. Core duties include supporting monitoring and evaluation frameworks, contributing to programme reporting on implementation progress, facilitating stakeholder engagement with government counterparts and implementing partners, assisting with research activities and capacity-building initiatives, managing learning and knowledge-sharing processes, and organising workshops, consultations and steering committee meetings.
The incumbent collaborates closely with internal IOM teams, government authorities, partners and other stakeholders to drive evidence-based programming and ensure coherent delivery of programme outcomes. Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organisation of the United Nations and the leading UN agency in the field of migration, promoting humane and orderly migration while driving solutions to displacement and supporting pathways for regular migration. The RE2CLID Programme specifically helps governments and communities in the Lake Tanganyika basin address climate- and disaster-related displacement through integrated approaches that strengthen preparedness and coordination while advancing community-driven recovery and resilience. The duty station is Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with travel to Kigoma Region as required.
