Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
About this role
Good Neighbors Tanzania is seeking a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join its international humanitarian development NGO operating in Tanzania. The organisation works across multiple programming areas including child rights, education, health, income generation, environment, water and sanitation, and community development. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing monitoring and evaluation systems across the organisation's project portfolio in Tanzania. The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will develop M&E frameworks, indicators, and tools; oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting; and ensure that programme learning is systematically captured and used to improve project quality and accountability. Core duties include conducting baseline, midline, and endline assessments, supporting staff and partners in data management, preparing periodic reports for internal and donor audiences, and liaising with programme teams to embed a culture of evidence-based programming. The officer will also be expected to track progress against organisational and donor-specified indicators and contribute to proposal development by integrating robust M&E plans into new funding concepts. Candidates must hold a university degree in Statistics, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related discipline, and must possess proven experience in designing and managing M&E systems for donor-funded development or humanitarian programmes. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies, data analysis software, and results-based management approaches is essential. Prior experience working in community development, child rights, health, or WASH programming contexts is highly desirable. The position is based in Tanzania, and the incumbent will work closely with field teams, country office programme staff, and regional or headquarters-level M&E counterparts. Good Neighbors Tanzania places strong emphasis on local community engagement and sustainable impact. Applications are invited through the organisation's designated portal, and interested candidates should submit their materials before the published closing date.
