Regional Technical Officer, Strategic Information

FHI 360 is recruiting a Regional Technical Officer, Strategic Information, based in Ruvuma, Tanzania, to lead monitoring and evaluation work across district councils in six regions. The role sits within FHI 360's Tanzania portfolio of HIV and TB care and treatment programming, working alongside government stakeholders, implementing partners, and health facilities. The officer works under the technical guidance of the Senior Regional Technical Officer, Strategic Information, and provides day-to-day technical leadership for M&E implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Duties include strengthening health information systems, conducting data quality assessments, verification and triangulation visits, and following up on identified gaps.

The post-holder supervises facility data clerks, mentors health care providers and data clerks in data capture and use, and ensures weekly facility export files are uploaded to FHI 360 and national repositories. The officer also maintains platforms such as CTC2, DHIS2, DATIM, Infolink and eLMIS, builds dashboards and analytics products, compiles periodic reports, and supports continuous quality improvement through the Monthly Portal. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, statistics, records management, public health, medicine, monitoring and evaluation, biostatistics, data science or a related field, with at least six years of experience managing M&E for TB and HIV/AIDS care and treatment programmes. Demonstrated expertise in data collection and interactive dashboards using Power BI, Excel and Tableau, strong knowledge of Tanzania's health information management systems including DHIS2, and proven stakeholder engagement skills are required.

A master's degree in data science, public health, health informatics, biostatistics or a related field is an added advantage. The appointment is full time, with 10 to 25 percent travel, reporting to the Senior Regional Technical Officer, Strategic Information, with matrix reporting to the Regional Manager. FHI 360 offers a competitive package, with an expected annual basic salary of TZS 52,000,000 to 65,000,000. Applications close on 24 October 2026.
