About this role
FHI 360 is seeking a Regional Technical Officer for HIV Prevention and HIV Testing Services to join the EpiC project in Tanzania, stationed in the Ruvuma region. FHI 360 is a global nonprofit human development organisation. The post-holder provides technical leadership and support for HIV testing services, HIV self-testing, Social Network Strategy, pre-exposure prophylaxis, demand creation and the integration of non-communicable disease screening into HIV and other public health delivery platforms. Day to day, the officer supports technical planning, implementation and monitoring of prevention and testing services across supported regions, and contributes to the design of interventions that align with national guidelines and global standards.

The officer ensures provider-initiated testing and counselling is offered at every service point, including inpatient, outpatient, MNCH, TB, STI and NCD clinics, and supports regional and council health management teams with planning, evaluation and quality assurance. Routine monitoring, data quality assessment and weekly performance review meetings are central to the role. Candidates must hold a degree in medicine or nursing, or a related field with relevant national registration, plus at least four years of experience in HIV prevention, testing services or public health.
Demonstrated experience with HIVST, SNS and PrEP programming, USG-funded projects, mentorship and supportive supervision is required. A master's degree in public health or an international equivalent is an added advantage. The officer reports to the Regional Senior Technical Officer, Clinical Services, and mentors junior staff. The role is full time and based in Ruvuma in a typical office environment.
The annual basic salary range is TZS 52,000,000 to 65,000,000. Applications are submitted online with a letter, CV, certificates and three referees, and close on 31 October 2026.
