Programmes Manager

Wild Survivors Tanzania

About this role

Wild Survivors Tanzania is seeking a proactive and grounded Programmes Manager to join the organisation's team working at the intersection of conservation, community livelihoods, and human-wildlife coexistence. This position sits at the centre of programme delivery, coordinating field teams and ensuring that the organisation's approach to human-elephant coexistence continues to strengthen and evolve. The Programmes Manager will work across multiple landscapes including Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Rukwa-Katavi, helping drive and coordinate programmes that bring together coexistence initiatives, locally led livelihoods, and the stewardship of elephant corridors across shared landscapes in partnership with communities. Core responsibilities include overseeing programme coordination, supporting field teams in their day-to-day operations, and bringing initiative and problem-solving leadership to the role. The successful candidate will take ownership of programme delivery, think ahead strategically, and help ensure quality and consistency across the organisation's field sites. Wild Survivors Tanzania works on human-elephant coexistence across western Tanzania, operating in partnership with communities living alongside elephant populations. The ideal candidate is a conservation or development professional with experience coordinating programmes and working with communities in Tanzania. This is not a purely administrative coordination role. The organisation is looking for someone who brings ownership, forward thinking, and problem-solving leadership into their work. The position is based in Arusha, Tanzania, with regular field travel required to project sites across the three districts. The role reports to the Executive Director. Applications should be submitted to careers@wildsurvivors.org with the subject line Programmes Manager – Wild Survivors Tanzania by 6PM on 18th May 2026. Applications must include a CV, contact information, three references, and a cover letter outlining interest in the post along with relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. The start date is June 2026.
