Programme Finance Officer
About this role
CBM, the world's leading organisation in disability-inclusive development, seeks a Programme Finance Officer for its Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on three pillars: project development and budget review ensuring compliance with donors and local regulations (tax, social security); partner capacity building through workshops and coaching on financial management, procurement, forecasting, and internal controls; and project coordination and quality assurance including review of income and expenditure statements, bank reconciliations, and cash flows, as well as supporting audit coordination. The post holder conducts financial monitoring visits annually to each project, performing sample voucher checks and eligibility reviews to ensure compliance with CBM and donor policies. Responsibilities also cover compliance and risk management, identifying financial risks and monitoring evolving tax regulations to ensure partner adherence to local laws. Qualifications include a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance or Accounting, at least five years of experience in the I/NGO sector, and an Associate CPA certification. Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks or SAP, strong analytical and communication skills, and identification with Christian values are essential. The position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, locally contracted with no expatriation, and offers a fair salary with social benefits.
