About this role

The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) invites applications from citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Administration Assistant. Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator for the WASH MPA Project, the incumbent will serve as a member of the project implementation unit and will be responsible for supporting the smooth and effective delivery of project activities. Core duties include managing project documentation and correspondence, coordinating internal and external communications, facilitating meetings and events, maintaining digital filing systems using platforms such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Teams, and supporting the project coordinator in monitoring progress against work plans and budgets. The role also involves logistical coordination, secretariat support for governance meetings, online content management, and social media administration for the project.

Required qualifications comprise a minimum of a High School Certificate combined with a Diploma in Business Administration, Administrative Management, Public Relations, Creative Writing, Communication, Project Management, Secretarial Studies, or a related discipline, accompanied by at least five years of progressive experience in project administration support within development projects at an international, regional, or national organisation. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, SAP ERP, digital filing systems, and project management software, along with excellent time-management, organisational, and communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Prior experience supporting meetings and events, providing secretariat services for governance forums, and managing digital content or social media channels will be considered an advantage. The position is based at AUDA-NEPAD headquarters in Midrand, South Africa, on a full-time basis.
