Partnership Facilitator III
About this role
Compassion International is seeking a Partnership Facilitator III to serve as the organisation's primary liaison to the local church in Tanzania. This role is central to Compassion's mission of strengthening local ownership, capacity, and resources of church partners to minister to children and youth in their own context. The Partnership Facilitator develops relationships with church partners and denominational leaders that are characterised by mutual respect, trust, and service that builds up church ministry.
The incumbent is accountable for managing partner relationships through the Partner Management core process, improving achievement of church outcomes, and applying a developmental mindset across all aspects of the partnership, including mobilising staff and other resources to support the church. Core responsibilities include facilitating partnerships with church leaders to collaboratively reflect on youth and church outcomes and plan for capacity growth, supporting the development of church-owned strategies that engage parents, children, and youth in programme design and decision-making, and coaching Church Facing Team (CFT) members to coordinate support effectively. The role requires building church and cluster capacity for local resource mobilisation, supporting church-led planning through all phases of the Program Cycle from needs assessment through evaluation, and overseeing a complex cluster of churches while remaining responsive to each church's individual context.
The facilitator also deepens church partner ownership of child protection standards, connects churches to evidence-based resources for preventing abuse, and ensures timely reporting of child protection concerns through Compassion's internal processes. At this career level, the incumbent generally conducts projects independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international initiatives and may coach and oversee other facilitators. The position is full-time and based in Tanzania, and the facilitator is expected to act as an advocate for the needs of children, maintain a personal commitment to child protection in all activities, and faithfully uphold Compassion's ministry through prayer and witness.
