Tanzania Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Lead

One Acre Fund

About this role

The Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Lead will serve within the One Acre Fund Tanzania programme, ensuring that gender-responsive, youth-inclusive and socially inclusive approaches are incorporated across all activity components and at all programme levels. This position will develop and implement strategies that address the needs and challenges of women, youth and marginalised groups, with a particular focus on the social dimensions of access, awareness and equity. The role requires leading the collection and analysis of information from diverse sources to inform programme gender, youth and social inclusion approaches, and ensuring that participatory and collaborative problem-solving methods inform strategy development, action plans, Theory of Change processes and implementation guides. Core day-to-day responsibilities include providing ongoing gender and youth-related technical support to team leads, embedding GYSI principles within extension services and field activities, implementing the Social Behaviour Change Strategy with tailored messaging and delivery channels for women, youth and marginalised communities, and documenting best practices for organisational learning. The GYSI Lead will also build the capacity of farmer-facing teams to apply inclusive approaches and participate in programme design to ensure products and services are attractive to youth, women-friendly and socially inclusive. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, preferably in Sociology, Social Development, Gender Studies or Marketing, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google tools, fluency in Swahili and English, and strong professional communication skills are required. Demonstrated experience in mainstreaming GYSI approaches is essential. One Acre Fund was founded in 2006 and currently serves 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine countries, providing farm supplies, training, seedlings and agricultural credit. The Tanzania office is part of this network serving smallholder farming communities. This is a two-year fixed-term contract with a location in Tanzania, and includes health insurance and paid time off benefits. The role is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania. Applications close on 19 May 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is hired.
