World Vision, a global humanitarian organization serving vulnerable children in nearly 100 countries, is seeking an ICT Officer for its Tanzania office. The organization operates with a staff of 34,000 inspired by Christian faith and a commitment to helping children overcome poverty. The ICT Officer serves as the first point of contact for day-to-day technical support to all end users, responding to Level 1 and 2 support requests through phone, email, and remote tools while logging call data into the service now system. The role involves regular travel to field offices, organizing and executing ICT clinics and knowledge transfer sessions, and ensuring new hire equipment setup and user account provisioning. The successful candidate will participate in deploying new or upgraded information technology and infrastructure projects, performing installations and minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, and configuring desktop PCs, laptops, and mobile devices. The position requires at least a Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field from a recognized university, along with a minimum of two years working experience in a networking or telecommunications environment. Preferred qualifications include ITIL, CCNA, and MCP certifications. A solid technical background in telecommunications technologies, network architectures, TCP/IP protocols, internet security, Windows operating systems, and office automation applications is essential. The ICT Officer also monitors network functionality, configures Cisco routers, switches, and Cisco Meraki devices, leads LAN installation and maintenance, and manages relationships with Internet Service Providers to ensure SLAs are met. Working under the supervision of the ICT Manager, the role also involves tracking performance metrics, managing asset inventory, and ensuring data protection and backup compliance.
