Founded in Bangladesh in 1972, BRAC has grown into one of the world's largest NGOs, reaching over 100 million people. The Head of Procurement based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is responsible for overseeing and managing the Country Programme procurement function, developing and implementing procurement strategies that promote client-centric quality of service delivery, facilitate programmatic implementation in a cost-effective manner, and ensure adherence to all relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards. Core duties include leading procurement teams, developing periodical procurement plans, managing vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management, overseeing budget management, implementing best practices for transparency and accountability, identifying and mitigating procurement-related risks, and monitoring performance through key performance indicators with regular reporting to senior management. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, professional certifications such as CPP, ISM, or CIPS, and a minimum of 6 years at managerial level in procurement management, preferably within an international NGO.
