Vital Strategies is seeking a Government Relations Advisor, Africa for its Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, a growing initiative that collaborates with governmental agencies across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to strengthen health systems and build local expertise in childhood lead exposure. The role facilitates regional exchange and coordinates high-level engagement and partnership building across multiple African countries. Core responsibilities include initiating and sustaining government partnerships with ministries and regulatory bodies, supporting country teams in translating strategy into implementation plans, representing Vital Strategies at regional forums and governance bodies, managing relationships with regional organizations, and promoting multisectoral collaboration for evidence-based environmental health policy. The position requires a Master's degree in public health, public policy, global health, international development, environmental health science, or a related field, along with a minimum of eight years of experience in government engagement and public health programming. Prior experience in health policy, environmental health, or lead poisoning prevention is strongly preferred. Strong government engagement, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and multi-country coordination skills are essential. The preferred base is Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on a full-time hybrid schedule, though candidates from Ghana, Rwanda, or Tanzania may be considered.
