Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Lead

One Acre Fund

About this role

One Acre Fund, a pan-African agricultural organization founded in 2006, is seeking a Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion (GYSI) Lead to drive inclusion across its Tanzania program. The organization currently serves 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine countries, providing farm supplies, credit, agronomic training, and related services that help farmers increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent. The GYSI Lead will incorporate gender-responsive, youth-inclusive, and socially inclusive approaches into the Tanzania program, ensuring that the needs and challenges of women, youth, and marginalized groups are addressed across all activity components and implementation levels. Core responsibilities include leading the collection and analysis of information from diverse sources to inform gender, youth, and social inclusion strategies, and using participatory problem-solving to develop action plans embedded within program plans, Theory of Change processes, monitoring frameworks, and implementation guides. The post-holder will provide ongoing technical support to team leads, embed GYSI principles within extension services and field activities, and contribute to the implementation of the Social Behavior Change Strategy with messaging and delivery channels tailored to reach women, youth, and marginalized communities effectively. Capacity building of farmer-facing teams in gender-responsive, youth-inclusive, and socially inclusive engagement will be a central duty. The role also involves identifying and documenting best practices in farmer outreach, youth engagement, and community-level inclusion for organizational learning, and supporting the design of products and services that are attractive to youth and women-friendly. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, preferably in Sociology, Social Development, Gender Studies, or Marketing, and possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience with demonstrated ability to mainstream GYSI approaches. Fluency in both Swahili and English is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google productivity tools and excellent professional communication skills. The position is offered on a fixed-term two-year contract based in Tanzania, with health insurance and paid time off included. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until a hire is made; the application deadline is 19 May 2026.
