Funded Traineeship, Political Section (PPI)
About this role
The European External Action Service (EEAS) offers a six-month paid traineeship within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) of the EU Delegation to Tanzania, based in Dar es Salaam. The tentative start date is 10 August 2026, concluding on 9 February 2027. Under the direct supervision of the Head of the PPI Section, the trainee will analyse and report on political developments in Tanzania, help shape EU positions on democracy, human rights, and youth, and liaise with EU Member States embassies and Tanzanian government counterparts. Responsibilities include drafting speeches, briefings, reports, and Note Verbales, attending meetings and events, and assisting in organising official visits and diplomatic functions. The trainee will also support public diplomacy initiatives to advance EU-Tanzania relations and enhance EU visibility through communication campaigns and public events. Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor diploma or equivalent, have less than one year of professional experience after graduation, possess an excellent level of English, and have no prior EU institution experience exceeding six weeks. Each selected trainee receives a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
