BURN Manufacturing is seeking a Field Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end supply chain and distribution operations across Tanzania. This senior role focuses on building operational infrastructure from the ground up, managing inventory across a network of warehouses and stockist points, and driving data-driven performance to support the company's growth and impact in the clean cooking sector. The Field Operations Manager will lead inventory planning and management, designing and implementing processes to optimize stock levels and controls nationwide. Responsibilities include overseeing warehouse setup and operational efficiency, ensuring adherence to storage standards, safety protocols, and proper documentation.
The role manages last-mile distribution frameworks to ensure timely delivery of products to end-users and stockist points, establishing strong partnerships and monitoring tools to maintain high service levels. Additional duties include leading monthly wall-to-wall stock counts, managing customs clearance and importation of CKD kits, coordinating seamless stock transfers across the network, assisting with carbon registration strategies to ensure full end-user data compliance, and building and managing a team of warehouse officers, distribution coordinators, and support staff. The position serves as a key liaison between Sales, Finance, Admin, and other departments, produces analytical reports on operational performance, designs after-sales strategy including call centre and repair station networks, and owns in-country shipment forecasts while staying informed on trade and import regulations. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's/MBA preferred), at least three years of B2B and B2C operations experience in transport and last-mile distribution, three years of supply chain management experience with demand, supply, and inventory planning, three or more years building and managing warehouse networks, two years managing after-sales teams, and three years importing goods with customs experience.
Preferred qualifications include experience with pay-go distribution networks, carbon offsetting projects in renewable energy, strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel, and leadership abilities. The position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on a full-time basis. BURN does not charge recruitment fees.
