About this role

World Vision is seeking a Cluster WASH Specialist to support the design, planning, and implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene programmes across assigned operational areas. With 75 years of humanitarian experience and a workforce of 31,000 staff working in nearly 100 countries, World Vision is a Christian faith-based organisation focused on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and achieve fullness of life. The specialist will provide technical leadership to WASH project teams, ensuring compliance with international WASH standards, donor regulations, and government policies throughout the project lifecycle. Core responsibilities include developing national WASH strategy and detailed implementation plans aligned with technical standards, overseeing technical design and construction of water supply, sanitation infrastructure, and solar-powered water systems, and managing contracts with local contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of WASH hardware. The role encompasses site supervision and quality assurance across feasibility, design, construction, and hand-over stages, preparation of Bills of Quantities against national and international standards, water quality monitoring and inspection of supply services, and monitoring of tariffs and pricing for water services. The incumbent will conduct field assessments, track quality against TP/DIP plans, supervise programme implementation, prepare progress reports for partners, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge management activities including lesson learning and research on innovative approaches. Additional duties involve capacity building through staff training, mentoring, and coaching, advocacy and external engagement with government agencies, local authorities, stakeholders, and community members, resource acquisition through proposal writing and donor negotiation, and ensuring safeguarding alignment for adult and child protection across all programme activities. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in WASH hardware implementation and a bachelor\'s degree in Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related field, with professional registration by ERB as a Professional Engineer. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in AutoCAD, Arch CAD, EPANET, and hydraulic calculations, experience in borehole design and drilling supervision, solar electrification systems, and strong planning and organisational skills.
