Associate Grants Officer, Tanzania

AGRA is seeking an Associate Grants Officer for a temporary contract role based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The position sits within AGRA's grants management team and is responsible for supporting pre-award and post-award functions for the country office. The incumbent will manage day-to-day project and in-kind grants administration for a portfolio of grantees, maintain grant tracking databases through AGRA's AMIS system, and monitor the flow of grant proposals from receipt through to award issuance and first payment. Key duties include conducting pre-award due diligence on potential grantees, providing training on grants compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to donor and AGRA policies, coordinating with country leadership and HQ regional grants officers, building grantee capacity on M&E systems, conducting portfolio performance health checks, organizing grant start-up workshops, and ensuring accurate data entry on AGRA's annual grant-making budget. The role requires a bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, or a related field with an accounting certification, along with demonstrated experience in grant making, donor compliance, and financial management. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to multi-task and work under pressure are essential.
