Associate Business Advisor, Maternity Cover

TechnoServe is hiring an Associate Business Advisor for a full-time maternity cover in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The position supports the Growth & Investment Program by maintaining continuity for a portfolio of growth-oriented Agri-SMEs over a three-month period while the regular Business Advisor is on leave. Working closely with the Program Manager and the outgoing advisor, the post holder will preserve strong relationships with participating SMEs and ensure smooth delivery of support. Core duties include participating in the handover process, following up with SMEs on Module 1 activities, coordinating group workshops, advisory sessions and follow-up calls, tracking engagement on the Learning Management System, maintaining business-level trackers, conducting physical touchpoint visits, providing aftercare to previous cohort participants, collecting monitoring data, and preparing an end-of-assignment handover note.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, agriculture, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, international development or a related field, or at least two years of field experience implementing business development, SME support or financial inclusion programs. Experience supporting SMEs through coaching, training or advisory, familiarity with digital training platforms and program trackers, and practical knowledge of business models, financial records and investment readiness are required. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential. Preferred qualifications include prior work with agri-SMEs in Tanzania, experience with investment readiness or financial management support, and short-term transition support experience.
