Programme Policy Officer (Markets and Logistics)

WFP is seeking a Programme Policy Officer to support the Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA) in Tanzania, a multi-stakeholder platform that strengthens smallholder farmer resilience by improving access to productivity services and reliable markets through a network of Farmer Service Centres. The incumbent will provide strategic and technical leadership under FtMA Pillar 2 (Markets and Access to Finance), overseeing market continuity mechanisms, FSC graduation, structured trade linkages, supplier readiness, and sustainability commitments with government and private-sector actors. Operating across six regions (Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Manyara, Singida, and Morogoro) with 493 Farmer Service Centres, the role requires managing stakeholder relationships and driving market systems development in the agricultural sector. The position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, under the direct supervision of the Activity 5 Manager, on a 6-month SSA Level 9 contract. Candidates should have expertise in market-based approaches, agricultural supply chains, and experience supporting smallholder market access programmes in developing contexts.
