Medical Coordinator (F/M)
Médecins du Monde (MdM)
About this Role
The Medical Coordinator leads technical design and implementation of MdM's health programs in Tanzania, reporting to the General Coordinator and overseeing Harm Reduction, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, and emergency response initiatives with two national staff members. Required qualifications include a medical degree (doctor, nurse, or midwife), a Master's in Public Health (preferred), a minimum of 4 years humanitarian sector experience, and fluency in English; Swahili is advantageous. This role is critical to Tanzania's health sector as MdM operates at the intersection of drug harm reduction and SRHR — areas with significant unmet need and stigma that often fall outside mainstream government health programming. Core responsibilities include program management, medical inventory oversight, NGO coordination, health context monitoring, and reporting. The ideal candidate is an experienced humanitarian health professional with prior medical coordination experience in East or Southern Africa and demonstrated capacity to supervise staff and build partnerships with health authorities. This is a 12-month fixed contract starting July 1, 2026, with a gross salary of €3,392/month plus expatriation allowance, accommodation, and health insurance.
